The CL10-HY Density Cell in conjunction with the Series 2000 Density Digital Converter can measure the temperature and density of a caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) process stream. The Series 2000 then processes this information.
Once the information is processed the density is calculated at a reference temperature. The specific gravity, baumé and percent concentration are then calculated from the reference temperature and the density at the reference temperature and this information is made available to the operator or process engineer.
The standard Series 2000 has a analog output corresponding to either of these process variables. Optionally, it can be programmed to have two analog outputs that can be calibrated for any two process variables (Temperature, Baume, Specific Gravity, Density, Percent Concentration, °Twaddle).
Dynatrol® Level Switches can be inserted into the storage tank or vessel at the point where the reading needs to be taken. Dynatrol® Density Systems are used in the brewing industry to measure various media.
Bulk Solids Level Detection

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter combination is used to measure the density of beer and corn mash. The alcohol content and point in the fermentation process can be determined by the density measurement.
The Dynatrol® Density System has two analog outputs, one for density and one for temperature and is used for measuring:
- corn beer and mash in distilleries for whiskey
- ethanol when used as a gasoline additive

Dynatrol® Density Systems are used to measure the concentration of Boron in nuclear power plants, as well as nuclear fuel manufacturing plants. Dynatrol® Systems have been used successfully in nuclear industries throughout the United States and are field proven.
The Dynatrol® Density System has two 4 to 20 milliamp outputs. The first output can be configured to reflect any of the measurement units (density, specific gravity, percent concentration, etc.), while the second output carries product temperature information. The software provided with the Series 2000 Digital Converter calculates the specific gravity, percent concentration, etc. using the density and temperature information generated by the CL-10HY Density Cell
The Dynatrol® GSS Level Detector is designed for high, intermediate, or low-point level detection of bulk solids. It is constructed to handle extremely lightweight applications that are difficult to measure or detect. The CL-10GSS is versatile enough to operate successfully with consistent results on difficult product like fine, low density powders and materials as light as 1/2 lb. per cubic foot.
