Pharmaceutical

Dynatrol® instruments are used for a variety of applications in the Pharmaceutical industry including:

  • point Level Detection of capsules or powdered coatings of tablets
  • determining the Viscosity of coatings, creams and ointments
  • evaluating the Density of hydrogen peroxide, oil mixtures, and other liquids or slurries.

Bulk Solids Level Detection

The Dynatrol® CL10-DJ series of level switches are used for level detection of dry ingredients in bins, hoppers or feeders. Typical applications for both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical processes include:

  • Tablets
  • Hard and Soft Gelatin Capsules
  • Powdered Materials for Coating Beads and Tablets
  • Fillers and other substances that vary widely in bulk density or particle size.

Viscosity Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL10-DV series Viscosity Meters and Series 3000 Viscosity Digital Converter are used to measure viscosity at process conditions in vessels, reactors or process piping. Typical viscosity measurement applications include:

  • Coatings
  • Creams
  • Emulsions
  • Gelatins
  • Gels
  • Lotions
  • Ointments
  • Silicon Fluids

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter can be factory programmed to use temperature and density information from the CL-10HY cell to calculate specific gravity, percent solids or percent concentration at process conditions. Pharmaceutical industry applications include:

  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Oil Mixtures
  • Propylene Glycol-based Fluids
  • Resins
  • Liquids
  • Slurries

Pulp and Paper

Dynatrol® instruments are used for a variety of applications in the Pulp and Paper industry. Measure the Density or percent concentration of alkalies, acids and coatings, determine the Viscosity during the pulping/bleaching process or assess point Level Detection of wood chips in bins. Our Interface level probes can be used to detect the interface between black liquor and soap.

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL10-HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Density Digital Converter are designed for continuous measurement and control of density or percent concentration for alkalies, acids and coatings such as:

  • corn starch
  • potato starch
  • sizings
  • clay coatings
  • and more...

Viscosity Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL10-DV series Viscosity Meter and Series 3000 Viscosity Digital Converter are used to measure the viscosity during the pulping/bleaching process. Dynatrol® Viscosity Meters are being used for the following applications:

The Dynatrol® CL-10DJI Level Detector is used for level detection of black liquor and soap.

Brewing

Dynatrol® Level Switches can be inserted into the storage tank or vessel at the point where the reading needs to be taken. Dynatrol® Density Systems are used in the brewing industry to measure various media.

Bulk Solids Level Detection

The CL10-DJ series of level switches are used for high, intermediate or low level detection of bulk solids like:

  • barley
  • grain storage for the beer brewing process
  • hops
  • malt

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter combination is used to measure the density of beer and corn mash. The alcohol content and point in the fermentation process can be determined by the density measurement.

The Dynatrol® Density System has two analog outputs, one for density and one for temperature and is used for measuring:

  • corn beer and mash in distilleries for whiskey
  • ethanol when used as a gasoline additive

Hydrochloric Acid

The Dynatrol® CL10-HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Density Digital Converter can be used to measure hydrochloric acid.

The hydrochloric acid application software is written to use the temperature and density information that comes from the CL-10HY cell to calculate product baumé, density at a reference temperature, specific gravity and percent concentration.

Automation Products Inc. uses the same reference tables that are used by hydrochloric acid manufacturers to cross check results generated by our hydrochloric acid software.

The CL-10HY and Series 2000 converter have been used to measure hydrochloric acid for chemical applications and low concentration acid mixing. This combination has also been used to measures high concentration hydrochloric acid in acid make-up towers.

Dynatrol® density cells can be supplied with tantalum media contact parts as well as carpenter 20, stainless steel and other alloys that can be chosen for your specific application.
