Petroleum and Petrochemical

Dynatrol® Density Systems and Viscosity Systems can be used to measure a variety of substances regularly seen in the petroleum and petrochemical industries.

Density Applications

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter can be used to measure density of:

The Petrochemical application software provided with the Digital Converter calculates the specific gravity, percent concentration, API Gravity, etc. using the density and temperature information generated by the CL-10HY.

Power Plant

Dynatrol® instruments provide Bulk Solids Level Measurement of fly ash applications, Density Measurement of water treatment chemicals, various liquors and lime slurries and Viscosity Measurement of fuel oil and waste oil.

Bulk Solids Level Detection

Dynatrol® CL-10DJ series level switches are used for fly ash applications in power generation plants and for fly ash collection. These level indicators are also used in applications where fly ash is used as a filler. Our CL-10DJ level probes are made from high strength stainless steel. For more abrasive or corrosive service, our level switches can be made from other materials. These level switch probes are well suited for the high temperature and harsh environments that are always a part of fly ash applications.

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter can be used to measure density, specific gravity or percent solids of water treatment chemicals such as caustic soda or sulphuric acid. Our equipment is also used to measure black liquor, green liquor and lime slurries, etc. at process conditions.

Our application software is written to use temperature and density information that comes from the CL-10HY cell to calculate various units at process conditions

Viscosity Applications

The Dynatrol® CL10-DV series Viscosity Meter and Series 3000 Viscosity Digital Converter are used to measure the viscosity of fuel oil in fuel oil to burner applications. Thus, helping to increase combustion efficiency and decrease particulate emissions. Dynatrol® Viscosity Systems are also used in waste oil incineration and waste oil pumping applications.

Terephthalic Acid

Dynatrol® provides Bulk Solids Level Detection for terephthalic acid applications in plants where the acid in the powder form is air transported. Dynatrol® Density Systems are used in terephthalic acid applications in siutations where the acid is carried as a slurry.

Bulk Solids Level Measurement

The CL-10DJ series level switches are used for terephthalic acid applications in plants where the acid in the powder form is air transported . The level switch can detect the presence of the acid powder it comes in contact with and then engage a remote alarm or light to indicate that a hopper or other vessel is full or empty.

Our standard level switches are made from 316 stainless steel. For more abrasive or more corrosive service they can be constructed from other materials.

Density Measurement for Liquids & Slurries

The CL-10HY Series Density Cells are used in terephthalic acid applications in plants where the acid is carried as a slurry. The density cells can detect the exact density of the acid/ liquid combination and can be used to either control the dilution of the slurry or alert operations when the proper concentration is reached. The standard density cells are made with 316 stainless steel media contact materials.

For more abrasive or more corrosive service can be made from other materials.

The Dynatrol® Viscosity Systems are used for the measurement or testing of liquid viscosity of paint, coatings, ink and many other industrial coating applications. Refining

Dynatrol® Density Systems are used on many applications in Petroleum Refineries, Sugar Refineries, Sugar Cane Cutting Mills and Bio-Refineries. Dynatrol® Bulk Solids Level Swtiches are used in Bio-Refineries to measure grain or natural cereals in hoppers.

Sugar Refineries and Cutting Mills use Dynatrol® Density Cells to measure the concentration of sugar syrups and various chemicals used in sugar processing to maintain quality assurance standards.

Bio-Refineries, producing ethanol from corn, utilize Dynatrol® Density Cells primarily for measuring the density of the mash. The mash is ultimately processed into “beer” and further processed into ethanol.

Bulk Solids Level Detection

Dynatrol® CL-10DJ series are used in Bio-Refineries to measure grain levels in hoppers or the level of natural cereals produced from the biomass.
