Dynatrol® instruments are used for a variety of applications in the Pharmaceutical industry including:

Bulk Solids Level Detection
The Dynatrol® CL10-DJ series of level switches are used for level detection of dry ingredients in bins, hoppers or feeders. Typical applications for both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical processes include:

- Powdered Materials for Coating Beads and Tablets
- Fillers and other substances that vary widely in bulk density or particle size.

Dynatrol® Bulk Solids Level Detectors provide accurate point level detection for carbon black, rubber granules, pellets or powders. Dynatrol® Density Systems and Viscosity Systems are designed to measure density or viscosity at process conditions of latex, various rubber coatings or chemicals.

Dynatrol® Density Systems and Bulk Solid Level Detectors are used in steel production factilities. We measure density, specific gravity, percent solids or percent concentration of quenchants, such as brine, caustic soda solutions, oil, water or oil-water emulsions, as well as lubricants and slurries at most process conditions in steel plants.
The Dynatrol® CL10-HY Density System can be used to measure density, specific gravity, percent solids or percent concentration of quenchants, such as brine, caustic soda solutions, oil, water or oil-water emulsions, as well as lubricants and slurries at most process conditions in steel plants.
Bulk Solids Measurement
The CL-10DJ series of level switches are used for high-, intermediate-, or low-level detection of bulk solids in baghouse applications, dust collection systems and bulk solids storage application in hoppers, silos and bins.

Automation Products, Inc. was approached by a chemical company to devise a solution for online measurement of an ammonia solution. The process is describer below.
The chemical company needed online measurements while mixing anhydrous ammonia with water. Their pressurized ammonia was bubbled into a mixing tank with ultra pure water, and a sample stream was constantly pumped from the bottom of the tank to give a real time reading of percent concentration for aqueous ammonia.
The chemical company chose a Dynatrol® Density System to solve their problem. The Dynatrol® Density Meter has the Temperature vs. Density vs. Percent concentration curves programmed into the Series 2000 Digital Density Converter. The density meter provides 4-20 mA signals to the chemical company’s control room for percent concentration and temperature of the ammonia and water solution. Since the Dynatrol® Density Meter outputs percent concentration, there was no need to program a complicated set of algorithms into the DCS control system to calculate percent concentration from density.
After months of comparing hand sample measurements to the measurements of the Dynatrol® Density Meter, the company found that the Dynatrol® Density Meter correlated directly to the hand measurements. The company now uses the Dynatrol® Density System in the control of the mixing process. This eliminates the bi-hourly hand sampling that technicians would have to perform.
Concrete mixing facilities use Dynatrol® CL10-DJ Level Detectors to measure high, intermediate, or low levels of various media types in the concrete production process.

Our CL10-DJ level switches are made from high strength stainless steel. These switches are used as ‘point level’ indicators and have dry Form C contacts.
