Dynatrol® Density Systems are used on many applications in Petroleum Refineries, Sugar Refineries, Sugar Cane Cutting Mills and Bio-Refineries. Dynatrol® Bulk Solids Level Swtiches are used in Bio-Refineries to measure grain or natural cereals in hoppers.

Density Measurement

Sugar Refineries and Cutting Mills use Dynatrol® Density Cells to measure the concentration of sugar syrups and various chemicals used in sugar processing to maintain quality assurance standards.

Bio-Refineries, producing ethanol from corn, utilize Dynatrol® Density Cells primarily for measuring the density of the mash. The mash is ultimately processed into “beer” and further processed into ethanol.

Bulk Solids Level Detection

Dynatrol® CL-10DJ series are used in Bio-Refineries to measure grain levels in hoppers or the level of natural cereals produced from the biomass.

Sulfuric Acid

Dynatrol® Density System can be used to measure sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid application software is written to use the temperature and density information that comes from the CL-10HY cell to calculate product baume, density at a reference temperature, specific gravity and percent concentration.

Automation Products, Inc. uses the same reference tables used by sulfuric acid manufacturers to cross check results generated by our sulfuric acid software. The CL-10HY and Series 2000 combination have been used to measure sulfuric acid for automobile batteries, and low concentration sulfuric acid mixing. It has also been used to measures high concentration sulfuric acid in chlorine drying towers as well as very high sulfuric acid concentrations in mixing and make up applications. The Dynatrol® Density Cells can be supplied with tantalum media contact parts as well as Carpenter 20 and other alloys that can be chosen for your specific application.

Sugar

Dynatrol® Density Systems calculate the density, percent solid expressed as °Brix, or Baumé of sugar syrups. Dynatrol® provides Bulk Solids and Liquid Level Detection for sugar applications for dry bulk sugar, as well as sugar liquor and various liquid syrups.

Dynatrol® can help you calculate the density and provide you with level detection for dry bulk sugar applications, as well as, sugar liquor and various liquid syrups.

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Density Digital Converter calculates the density, percent solids expressed as °Brix, or Baumé of sugar syrups. Dynatrol® Density Systems may be used to measure syrup at cutting mills and sugar refineries, as well as in evaporators and crystallization vacuum pans. These accurate and reliable measurements can be performed at process conditions.

Bulk Solids Level Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL10-DJ Level Detector complete with EC-501A control unit is used for high-, intermediate-, or low-level detection of bulk solids in bins, hoppers or silos. Within the sugar industry typical applications include:

Fertilizer

Dynatrol® Density Measurement Systems are used extensively with ammonia solutions for measurement and control of density, specific gravity, or percent concentration. Dynatrol® Bulk Solid Level Switches are used on bins and hoppers for high, mid and low point detection.

  • Eliminate multiple hand sampling when mixing
  • Real time percent concentration measurements of ammonium hydroxide with no effects from pressure changes or pipe vibration

Density Measurement

The Dynatrol® CL-10HY Density Cell and Series 2000 Digital Density Converter are used around the world for measurement of Anhydrous Ammonia and ammonia solutions. Our density products can measure and display specific gravity , density or percent concentration of ammonia products. The density cell measures the characteristics of a vibrating tube and temperature of the product. The electronic converter then calculates the percent concentration and density of the solution inside the Density Cell. Our Density Systems are used for measurement on:

Bulk Solids Level Detection

Our Bulk Solid Level Switches are used for determining the level of powders or granulars in a bin or hopper. Dynatrol® level switch products have very stringent hazardous location ratings including Class 1, Division 1. Groups A B C and D. They can be used for level detection of any ammonium salt that does not attack stainless steel. These level switches can be manufactured with various sensitivities. The lightest can detect powdered polystyrene foam and the heavy duty products can be used on things as difficult as crushed concrete or rock.

Settled Solids in Liquid

The Dynatrol® CL-10DJI Interface Level Detector has the unique ability to detect:

  • a liquid and settled bed of solids
  • a liquid and floating bed of solids
  • the liquid phases of products having significantly different viscosities
